Questions to think about:
1. How easy is it for the user to search?
2. Does this offer service users/families/carers/friends, professionals and service providers a simple way to search for residential rehab?
3. How would you find out more about rehab?
4. Where would you go if you had certain criteria you were searching for?

Hi’
I’ve had a quick look through the details for rehab direct and this seems quite complicated. However, I think it may cover the criteria a service user may wish to check on if looking for a rehab.
One of the thing that I find missing is what is the how carer friendly the rehab is. Are they shut out of contact, are they ignored or is there a positive encouragement for carers to be kept informed or even involved in the treatment. How their anxieties are to be alleviated.
I don’t quite know how this could be covered in tick boxes.
I will look further the design again and if there are any further comments I will contact again.
Regards Neil
Hi Neil
Thanks for your comments.
Can you clarify your comment about it being complicated – do you mean the homepage search isn’t clear enough or the navigation?
Projects will have the option to give information about how they accommodate carers, so while this may not be a search criteria, it could/should be included in the project description.
Thanks
Fiona
Firstly I’d like to say that I much prefer the 1st design to the 2nd. It looks far more appealing and proffessionally laid out.
1. How easy is it for the user to search?
It appears easy to search on both designs although I personally prefer clicking on links (1st one) as opposed to tabs (2nd one).
2. Does this offer service users/families/carers/friends, professionals and service providers a simple way to search for residential rehab?
Yes I think both designs offer a simple way for people to search but feel the detail of the page a searcher would be navigated to after clicking search is the important one, unless they already half know what they’re looking for.
3. How would you find out more about rehab?
I think that ‘what is rehab’ link or tab is self explainitory and shouldn’t cause anybody any problems, although some symbol could also be used for people who cannot read or a link providing a contact number for those who need help due to any form of disability e.g . deafness.
4. Where would you go if you had certain criteria you were searching for?
I would definately recognise that the place to go is ‘advanced search’
I look forward to further contributions.
Dear Andy
Many thanks for your comments.
I’ll post the results pages soon, so you can have a look at this too.
We will go through full accessibility testing, so the site should work for people with disabilities.
Thanks
Fiona
The first option is definitely more attractive as a layout – the second is boring because it only has one colour and it is not broken up at all. However, although I appreciated the intention behind the green bd, I found it oddly distracting. Maybe black rehab and green direct?
I like the different colours and having a picture there.
1. How easy is it for the user to search?
It looks easy enough in both designs.
2. Does this offer service users/families/carers/friends, professionals and service providers a simple way to search for residential rehab?
I think so.
3. How would you find out more about rehab?
Go to ‘What is rehab?’
4. Where would you go if you had certain criteria you were searching for?
‘Advanced search’ or if I wanted some human contact ‘come and talk’, hoping to get personalised responses to my questions.
