We are the digital/social media/web 2.0 arm of OLM Group and focus on social media, interactive communications and tools that help people make better decisions. Our sister company, Pavilion Publishing, focuses on publishing, training and organising events for professionals delivering public services. You can find out more about our individual products here, but we thought we’d use this page to tell you who we are. As they say, it’s nice to put a face to a name.

James Marsland – Managing Director I divide my time between new technology, my family and raising money to walk up Mt Kilimanjaro. I have spent all my working life building products and services that are delivered over the Internet. Prior to joining Pavilion, I held both technical and commercial board level positions at Documedia, a publicly listed internet services business over a five year period. What gets me out of bed? My iPhone or my children. I consume all the morning’s news on my phone by 6.15am before the chaos of the day starts. Email me at: james.marsland@pavilion-interactive.co.uk |

Fiona Richmond – Marketing Manager I joined the company 3 years ago, and haven’t really had much of a chance to sit back and reflect since. Which is a Good Thing, in my book. The last couple of years have been a real education in new media, social media, SEO and all things generally digital. I keep my feet on the ground by running user groups, like the National Treatment Agency one, reading sensible blogs and keeping tabs on a small boy (mine). Email me at: fiona.richmond@pavilion-interactive.co.uk |

Alex Mohr – Chief Technical Officer I have been with OLM for over 5 years and have seen several changes of company name, but I’m happy to be CTO covering so many exciting projects. I live 7 minutes away from work, and my daily commute includes a 5p toll bridge crossing. I try to play tennis when I can, but a recent incident involving the wrong shoes has meant that I’m out of action for a few months. Email me at: alex.mohr@pavilion-interactive.co.uk |

Tanya Rackham – Operations Manager I joined OLM over 8 years ago and in 2007 I moved from my role as HR Manager to Pavilion on a secondment as Operations Manager. It’s difficult to describe my role in three lines – but let’s just say it’s fast, diverse and I love it. My passion in business is driven by customer satisfaction. I count myself lucky that our customers are such a great group of people who have helped me shape our business processes and products so that they add value to all that use them. But in fact I do actually believe that “great customer services is no customer service!” Email me at: tanya.rackham@pavilion-interactive.co.uk |

Andrew Chilvers – Editorial Director I’ve been an editor and journalist for some 20 years, working in the UK, Europe and the Far East. In that time I’ve worked on national and international titles from business and travel to consumer, health and social care. At Pavilion I run a small team of journalists working on print, online and social media engagement products. Publishing is changing rapidly and I feel privileged to be at the forefront of those changes. Email me at: andrew.chilvers@pavilion-interactive.co.uk |

Mark Watson – Information Services Manager I’ve been using technology to support social care practice since 1982. I’ve progressed from cobol databases, PC databases, and dial-in bulletin boards, through email listervs and CD-ROM databases, to websites such as CareKnowlege. The challenge is to build on these previous systems, what we have learned from them and knowledge management approaches, and to blend that with the exciting opportunities that Web 2.0 and social media offer. Email me at: mark.watson@pavilion-interactive.co.uk |

Jim Kennedy – Editor, CareKnowledge I joined OLM nearly ten years ago – working firstly as a senior business consultant before moving (gradually) into my current role. I had a long career in social work before joining OLM, including lead roles in the former social services inspectorate and at LGA. Now, CareKnowledge gives me the opportunity to offer support to those in the field – trying to stay abreast of the ever accelerating world of social care knowledge. I devote the rest of my time to walking and maintaining close contact with my 4 grown up children, and my one tiny grand child… Email me at: jim.kennedy@pavilion-interactive.co.uk |

Ian A’Kempis – Account Manager I have been with Pavilion for just over two years, coming from a background of both traditional and new media. I now work on CareKnowledge managing our Local Authority accounts, all the way from West Dunbarton to Plymouth. In my spare time I coach basketball, having previously been an avid player. Email me at: ian.a’kempis@pavilion-interactive.co.uk |

Dan Parton – Senior Journalist I joined Pavilion a couple of years ago, seeking a change from the corporate world of business journalism and to make a difference to people’s lives. Social care is such a vast and interesting field with great human stories at every turn. Trying to tell these stories, as well as getting to the heart of big issues, such as personalisation and the ramifications of the Baby P case, is what motivates me. Away from Pavilion, I’m a long-suffering Aston Villa fan, ‘indie’ music aficionado and font of useless knowledge about children’s TV of the 1980s. Email me at: dan.parton@pavilion-interactive.co.uk Read my blog at: http://pavilion-interactive.com/thesocialcareblog/ Follow me on twitter: @socialcaredan |

Rob Mair – Journalist As a journalist I always wanted 2 things – to work in an exciting environment and to make a difference. With the work we do at Pavilion Interactive, I get to achieve both of these aims. We inform social work professionals about good practice with the CareKnowledge emails, and I never know what I’ll be doing from one day to the next. I could be filming and editing videos for our Stockport site, or I could be writing copy for Bettercaring, or blogging for one of the blog sites. Email me at: rob.mair@pavilion-interactive.co.uk |

Paul Chamberlain – Information Officer I joined OLM in Summer 2002 along with Mark Watson as the (slightly overweight and balding) Robin to his (slightly overweight and balding) Batman. I am responsible for the day to day updating and editing of the CareKnowledge pages. When not spreading my vast tentacles of knowledge and power across the internet I like to sit at home and stare at my Wii fit wondering if I will ever use it and indulging in my effort to try, at least once, every brand brand of rum available in the world. Email me at: paul.chamberlain@pavilion-interactive.co.uk |

Diane Kennedy – Customer Services Executive I have worked part time for OLM for 3 years and am the token ‘Oldie’… despite the advancing years I actually do understand some of the conversations around me. When not working, I am a keen swimmer and still do some teaching and coaching. I’m very into growing my own veg and usually also supply my family as well (sometimes I get a bit carried away with the number of seeds planted!). I love to visit Turkey at least once each year and am learning Turkish but it’s very slow progress. Email me at: diane.kennedy@pavilion-interactive.co.uk |

Ralf Buckenmaier – Senior Developer I joined the day after Easter Monday 2004, which makes me one of the longest serving people here. I no longer have time for hobbies, since the arrival of my daughter, but I still squeeze in a full day’s development. I live very close to the office, which is fantastic, until it starts snowing, then I have to walk in! Email me at: ralf.buckenmaier@pavilion-interactive.co.uk |

Rachid Zaroil – .Net Developer I joined the company in February 2009. I really enjoy working with a very nice team, on very interesting projects. In my private life, I try to keep myself as busy as possible and away from my laptop! So between football every weekend playing with my team then watching my favorite team Arsenal and going out…(theatre, musicals, comedy, clubbing…), I think I have found a good balance… Email me at: rachid.zaroil@pavilion-interactive.co.uk |

Aidan Wickens – .Net Developer I am a recent addition to the Pavilion Interactive development team. So far it has been a hectic but very welcome experience getting up to speed with new media in health and social care. I am in no danger of becoming a geek as I have been one for as long as I can remember! Luckily geek is the new chic and this, along with a healthy curiosity about the world at large, helps keep me from becoming a complete coding stereotype. Sometimes I even go outside!
